Medication Assessment
Assessment, initiation, adjustment, or tapering of psychiatric medication — under safe follow-up.
Overview
Many mental-health conditions respond well to medication, but medication alone rarely solves the full picture. We carry out a thorough review of indication, benefits, possible side effects, and interactions with other medications before recommending starting or changing.
Who is this for?
- You are considering starting psychiatric medication and want a specialist review.
- Your current medication causes side effects or insufficient effect.
- You wish to taper medication safely.
How it works
- 01
Review
We review diagnosis, previous medications, physical health, and preferences.
- 02
Plan
We agree on a concrete plan, including what to monitor.
- 03
Follow-up
Brief follow-up sessions to review effect, side effects, and dosing.
Our approach
Medication is one tool among several. We talk openly about what is realistic to expect — and what is not.
Frequently asked
Do you treat ADHD, depression, and anxiety?
Yes. We provide specialist assessment and treatment for ADHD, depression, anxiety disorders, impulse-control concerns, and general adult psychiatry. Each treatment plan is personalised to your specific needs and circumstances.
What happens in a first consultation?
Your first consultation is a thorough assessment — about 60 minutes. We discuss your symptoms, personal history, and goals. This helps us understand your situation and recommend the most suitable treatment path. There is no pressure to commit to ongoing sessions after the first meeting.
Do you accept health insurance?
MareSante does not receive government subsidies, so sessions are fully paid by patients. However, many private health insurance plans cover psychiatric consultations. We recommend checking with your insurance provider about coverage for private psychiatric care in Norway before your first appointment.
